About Presidential Candidate Forums:
The Presidential Candidate Forums, organized by the Federation of American Hospitals and Families USA, feature candidates being interviewed by a panel of prominent journalists from ABC News, National Public Radio, the Wall Street Journal and the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. The forums, taking place at the Kaiser Family Foundation's Barbara Jordan Conference Center, will be taped for broadcast by MacNeil-Lehrer productions and webcast by kaisernetwork, Kaiser's health news and information service. Major support for the operation of Presidential Candidate Forums is provided by the Kauffman Foundation and the California Endowment.

Presidential Candidate Forums are a unique and distinctive process designed to give voters a thoughtful understanding of each Presidential candidate's vision for improving health and health care in America. Each forum elicits the candidate's views about health and health care in America and lasts 60 minutes.

Federation of American Hospitals FamiliesUSA

Federation of American Hospitals: The Federation of American Hospitals is the national representative of investor-owned or managed hospitals and health systems. Our members include general community and teaching hospitals in urban and rural areas as well as rehabilitation, long-term acute care, cancer, and psychiatric hospitals.

Families USA: For 25 years, Families USA has been a leading voice for health care consumers. As a national non-profit, nonpartisan organization, Families USA works at the federal, state, and community level to achieve high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans.

The forums are produced by MacNeil-Lehrer Productions, which will also produce a documentary. Candidates are interviewed by a panel of highly respected health journalists from The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, ABC News, National Public Radio and The Wall Street Journal.

The forums take place in the Kaiser Family Foundation's Barbara Jordan Conference center. Webcasting is provided by kaisernetwork, Kaiser's health news and information service. The Kaiser Family Foundation is a non-profit, private operating foundation focusing on the major health care issues facing the nation.

The California Endowment: The California Endowment is a private, statewide health foundation that was created in 1996 as a result of Blue Cross of California's creation of WellPoint Health Networks, a for-profit corporation.
